So how can you change your relationship with food while simultaneously keeping your love of it.
Perhaps relying on diets, patches, pills and potions has served to encourage poor eating habits, but are these strategies working for you?
Why do diet plans work for some and not for others? Do those who are successful at dieting have a secret something they’re doing differently to the rest of us?
What’s the common denominator that underlies their success?
One area that has proven to make a significant difference is that of mindset and how some people adapt themselves by taking a life-long approach rather than hoping for a quick-fix.
Healthy weight reduction approaches
On her website Weight Loss Resources, British Dietician Juliette Kellow talks about the metabolism and how it’s affected by dieting.
In answer to the question; Why does a very low calorie intake slow down weight loss she says:
Quite simply, your body goes into “starvation mode” and this mechanism, which is thought to have evolved as a defence against starvation, means the body becomes super efficient at making the most of the calories it does get from food and drink.
The main way it does this is to protect its fat stores and instead uses lean tissue or muscle to provide it with some of the calories it needs to keep functioning. This directly leads to a loss of muscle, which in turn lowers metabolic rate so that the body needs fewer calories to keep ticking over and weight loss slows down.
Of course, this is the perfect solution if you’re in a famine situation. But if you’re trying to lose weight, it’s going to do little to help you shift those unwanted pounds.
Changing the mindset
The evidence of people fully changing the mindset strongly suggests the success sits in fully changing their lifestyle, but I want to introduce other approaches into the mix, and there is a healthier approach that will keep your love of food without having to go to extremes.
Of course everyone is different but if the thought of giving up all the goodies you’ve loved and craved in the past triggers even more reversal and over-indulgent behaviour then you might need a different approach to someone who wants to address a serious disease where certain eating plans are recommended to bring the physiology back into a neutral and healthy place.
But whatever you need there are some fabulous tools and techniques to help you reach your desired goal with far less stress than you may have previously experienced. I want to help you to reach your desired weight control goals and I love sharing the information.
What works best for you?
Of course, you are the best person to know what sort of approach works best for you. Although it’s important to draw your attention to the fact that you will have to get fully involved in preparation to change your own mindset around a subject that has possibly baffled you for longer than you care to remember.
I’m just saying it isn’t a question of abstention or nothing which is really good news! So lets ask?

Is that a resounding yes well I think you already know there isn’t a magic-wand so let’s quickly dismiss those so last-century fixes, that left us as heavy if not heavier and together lets ditch the diets, patches, pills and potions that haven’t worked for the majority of us and instead get on-board with ourselves and find some easier solutions.
The techniques I’ll introduce you to here are among the latest in the modern-world where making natural change raises personal awareness so you can take back the control around these issues.
But the good news is it doesn’t have to be such a struggle, and maybe that’s a starting point for you, i.e. there’s something wrong with me because nothing works, or some such limiting thoughts and beliefs around your relationship not only with food but with the topic or weight loss itself.
