I’m going to share some of my own insights and it’s not something I’ve done that much before, mainly because I’ve been battling (do you like that lol) with the fact that I help others with their weight while still conquering my own issues around food.
Now there will be some who recognize that it helps grow my knowledge, while others will wonder, what could she know about it when she’s not managed it herself?
We have to eat to live, right, and one of the realizations I’ve gathered is the importance of NOT relying on other systems (and plans) to make these changes, but instead to start relying on our own system (the body). Why do I say this, well it’s because we do know how to eat and at some deep level at some point we’ve (mostly) all been quite capable of it at one time or another. And as all our memories, patterns and behaviours are stored in the subconscious mind there remains a part of us that can do this unaided.
Having seen the statistics we know that, on-the-whole, diets don’t work it indicates that instead we have to start looking at what will.
And from the work I do with clients (and self) it appears the more we clear the emotional roller-coaster, the better it is for us to make contact with that inherent barometer of eating what we like, when needed, in a regulated manner, instead of the unhelpful patterns we may have developed for a myriad of reasons.
The Importance Of Working On These Issues
Its’ so important to work on these emotional issues, in order to become truly free of whatever prompts old behaviours to kick in any time the stress levels get out of control, the overwhelm hits or a conscious excuse is made to hit the store, supermarket, kitchen cupboard or fridge.
It’s too easy to leave the rails, and so much harder to stay on track when all you’re relying on is the willpower of the conscious mind. Doing the deeper work dispels with the need for this method as clearing the decks, so to speak, makes your intention so much easier to achieve.
This is because the resistance comes from the subconscious mind not the conscious mind and as the subconscious runs between 95-97% of the show that is your life, habits, believes and behaviours it makes you realize the reasons of why it’s such an uphill struggle.
Today’s Insight
What if all the wrong decisions you ever made that took you in the wrong direction were actually taking you in the right direction all along.
And what if that included your eating and weight gain etc. So that now you have learned so much about what you want from your life that you feel is being denied because of your weight. Isn’t that a beautiful thing, because maybe without it you wouldn’t have understood just who you wanted to be and what you wanted to do in the world.
What I’m aiming to say here is that, just like me, your weight or weird eating behaviours could have been serving you something positive all along, as well as any other perceptions you may have about them.
Is It The Right Time For You?
So is it the right time, are you ready to make some pretty big changes, in order to start having the quality of life you really want?
If so please contact-us and we can have a chat about what you want to achieve in the long-term and how easy it really is to achieve what you want once you address the weight/food issue if that’s the one that is the big stumbling block for you.
Like I say I’m living it too and I love the insights and information that it gives to enable independence from all the downsides and negatives that are embedded in poor eating habits and thought patterns.
Eating to live is what food is really about and maybe it’s time for you to get back to that, and still love food. If so and you want to know what others have said about working with me please check out some words here.

Janie,
This is another great post. I find so often I am looking for the ‘easy button’ in order to lose weight – but there just isn’t one unless or until you figure out ‘why’ you’re dragging it all around with you in the first place!
I don’t want to listen to anyone talk about weight issues who hasn’t battled it themselves. I know from direct experience, those who haven’t fought with their weight just do not ‘get it’. So I want advice coming from someone who know’s firsthand the issues I face related to food and how to sustain (as you say we HAVE to eat) without gain.
I follow you and read your blog to learn how to eat well without gaining weight and ‘lose’ the psychological weight that is keeping the physical weight on me. Thanks for another great insight.
Cheers,
Debra
